Frankfort Police Arrest 12 People On Drug Charges
On Tuesday, police and federal agents arrested 14 people after an 18-month investigation into a Frankfort drug ring.
Frankfort police say their officers, along with the DEA, U.S. Marshall’s Service, Kentucky State Police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office served 12 arrest warrants on suspects indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on various controlled substance charges.
Officials say the arrests stemmed from an extensive 18-month investigation utilizing surveillance and controlled buys conducted by the Frankfort Police Department’s FLEX unit. The investigation centered around a drug trafficking organization known by the street name, “the Memphis Crew.” The group allegedly earned the name because many of the organization’s members hail from Memphis, Tenn.
