Who is April (apsies)?
The nickname apsies comes from my first name, April, and was bestowed upon me years ago by my childhood best friend. It has nothing do with with Asperger’s Syndrome.
I grew up in a small suburb outside of Louisville, Kentucky. I graduated in December 2010 with a degree in history (a subject I love, love, love) and mountains of student loan debt. I live in an even smaller town than the one I grew up in where I garden, dream of someday having a chicken coop I raise a flock of 7 chickens (and blog about it), love on the family dogs and cats, think a lot about going to grad school, and obsessively check out real estate even though I have no real career yet and barely any money.
I became a Democrat (like definitely so) in 2000 when I learned my mom was pro-choice. But before that my grandparents convinced me to love Bill Clinton because A) he had a little girl who also had curly hair and B) his little girl shared my middle name, Victoria. And even before that my Dad helped unionize his county road department, so it was sort of ingrained.
I love: the Obama administration, the Clinton administration (I am a well documented Clinton-ite, having met all 3 Clinton family members), Bravo tv shows, Eastern Kentucky, royal watching, the University of Kentucky men’s basketball program, warm weather, blogging, and making life lists.
I don’t love: organized religion (ever since Revelations made me scared for my life sometime around 1992), conservatives/tea partiers/libertarians, being landlocked, Rick Pitino, and cooked onions.
